ACHIEVEMENTS
1948 - Establishment and commencement of production of BCG Vaccine in liquid form.
1973 - Switchover of production of BCG Vaccine in Freeze Dried form (50 doses/ampoule).
1982 - Production of BCG Vaccine in 20 doses/ampoule.
1993-94 - Commencement of manufacture and supply of BCG Vaccine for Cancer chemotherapy.
2000-01 - Switchover of production of BCG Vaccine from Ampoules to Vials.
2000-01 - Increase in installed capacity from 400 lakh doses to 800 lakh doses.
2000-01 - Entire country need for BCG Vaccine under EPI met by BCGVL. As a result, import of BCG Vaccine was stopped.
2003-04 - Commencement of marketing of BCG Vaccine (40mg) for cancer chemotherapy
2005-06 - Production and supply of BCG Vaccine in 10 doses/vial.
